(Currently Tinderbox integration is a little wonky, but the developer is working on an update to support Scriv3.Welcome to the official subreddit for Bear - flexible notes, beautiful writing on Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch. Scriv also has much better integration with other writer's tools like Aeon Timeline and Tinderbox. it's more than 700 pages of US letter format text, and it's very well-written. a lot of the more advanced features like wiki-like transclusion aren't immediately visible on the surface, but you should download the PDF manual. (And Scrivener is cheaper too, although that doesn't factor into it for me.) The feature set in Scriv3 is just so deep. Now I think the advantage for Scrivener on the Mac is just so overwhelming that it's not even a contest. I haven't had problems with sync, but I like the fact that even if I did have problems, the raw files are still available on Dropbox in clean, non-proprietary file formats.īefore Scrivener 3, I think there was more of an argument that Ulysses and Scrivener on the Mac were comparable. I think it's the most polished of all of the major iOS apps I have in terms of a rich combination of features and carefully thought out, well-implemented user interface. Thank you for reporting spam and other rule-breaking content. If you have any suggestions regarding subreddit or community improvements, you can message the moderators at any time. NotePlan, UpNote, nvUltra, Taio, iA Writer, Tinderbox, DEVONthink and Agenda are all worth a look too and all are better notes apps than DayOne or MindNode in my opinion. Exceptions may be made and the final say goes to the moderators. Interesting list, I’m surprised Bear didn’t make the cut if Apple Notes ultimately worked for you and you didn’t need backlinks or the like.
